These facilities are used to transload containers and consolidate shipments into truckloads for delivery to Amazon’s Fulfillment Centers (FCs). Unlike fulfillment centers, IXDs are not involved in the direct fulfillment of orders from vendors to customers but play a crucial role in managing inbound logistics.
